Calexico
Fans of Calexico have already come to expect the unexpected from Tucson, Arizona residents Joey Burns and John Convertino. Each of their albums, from their dusty, lo-fi debut Spoke (1996) to the noir-infused dramatic power of The Black Light (1998), the breakthrough, mariachi madness of Hot Rail (2000), to their hugely successful Feast of Wire (2003), which flirted with ambient electronica and Gil Evans infused jazz, charting in 14 European countries.
Sean Hayes
Sean Hayes' worn, soulful music defies easy categorization. Described as loose, dusty, and alive, his songs radiate a free–spirited charm that rarely seems attached to any particular era. The result is a sound infused with eclectic instrumentation and an unpolished warmth. Born in New York City and raised in North Carolina, Sean Hayes now resides in San Francisco. His songs have been re-mixed by DJs and covered by folk artists. His unique soulful voice infects audiences with charm, equal parts affirming and heartbreaking.
Greg Paul
Gregory Paul lures listeners through a beautifully haunted acoustic soundscape of folk-noir sounds and images...along miles of ethereal banjo, guitar, bow, slide, and musical saw. Following his popular success with the Rochester, NY based Autumdivers, Paul released his highly applauded 2005 solo album "Awake From the Flash," which contains recordings that span twenty years of GP's musical experiences. Paul generously collaborates with local poets, visual artists, and musicians -- and his music has been featured in a variety of multi-media projects. Gregory Paul has toured extensively throughout the US, and is currently recording work for a future release.
Daniel Shaw
After an early career as a tennis player, Daniel began singing and performing on the pub and club scene in London. When a talent scout spotted him, the young Londoner started touring the UK and Europe. He landed gigs in Norway, Denmark, Spain and Germany. Daniel's credits include a top 3 finish in the prestigious performer of the year awards at the Cambridge Theatre. Winning the 'Guinness Battle of Bands' competition with former band The Bones and most recently Winning the 'Outstanding Recording Project 2008 at Musician Institute in Hollywood.
Chris Trapper
The trick to the irresistibly organic, pure pop sound is that the music, and even the lead singer, take a back seat to the real star: the songs. As the principal songwriter and singer for nationally acclaimed alt-rock trio The Push Stars, Chris Trapper is equally sure-footed in his solo career. When on hiatus from The Push Stars, Chris writes, records and tours in support of his solo CD's.
Xavier Toscano
Xavier Toscano grew up with MTV on the tube and the multicultural scene of the Bay Area blaring in the background, and his music reflects it. Toscano's music can be described as enthusiastic, young, urban pop. He blends his love of rap and R&B with his Latino background. Xavier believes that pop music is the soundtrack to our lives. It has the power to carve events in our lives in stone. When you hear a pop song from your past, it has the power to take you back. It brings memories long faded into sepia back with a colorful pop, allowing the past to be instantly relived. That is what makes Toscano love music so much. And that is the power he hopes to infuse into his songs.
