Mismo is the brainchild of Lorraine Flett (writer/producer) and Gino Dante Borges (writer/director) who teamed with Jeffrey Davis (lights and sound) and Danny Baldonado (camera/film editor) to turn their story about human connectivity into a feature film. Rigorous auditions resulted in a stellar cast from the Bay Area's established and up-and-coming actors.

The team's extensive connections garnered unique shooting locations throughout San Francisco including, Forbes Island Restaurant, Ginger Rubio Salon, Shotwell's Bar, Borderlands Bookstore, and a rooftop terrace in the heart of Chinatown, to name but a few. Thanks to the commitment of more than 100 people, principle photography took place over six months of nights and weekends.

The film in the can is only half the battle. We then spent hundreds of hours in the editing room crafting this complex story. Just like
Alexander Gonzalez Inniratu struggled for 2 1/2 years to cut Amores Peros from its original 3 1/2 hours into his final masterpiece, we too sought to peal away the layers to find the best narrative path for Mismo. The sound editing was no less demanding and then came another creative burst working with veteran composer, Ed Bogas, to define the sound of Mismo. Protracted negotiations with musicians resulted in a soundtrack we are sure you will enjoy.

Collectively Gino, Lorraine and Danny spent 21 months on post-production filling their evenings and weekends for a total of... well, quite frankly, in retrospect, the number of hours overwhelms us... in the thousands! It's a good thing we really like and respect each other.

Now the fun begins...

Until this point, we have paid for the bulk of expenses out of our pockets thus limiting the pace at which we could proceed.

This is where you come in.

You can accelerate, and become a part of, the success of this film by contributing to the final phase of marketing. Getting Mismo in front of moviegoers is the goal.
